Ruby Tuesday

I’m quilting a very special piece for someone else at the moment and thought you might like an update, as I’m just over the halfway mark. The entire quilt top is constructed in hand dyed fabrics, in the Hunter’s Star pattern, and I’m quilting it in one of my own custom free-form designs using Arabian Nights thread. We could not have picked a more beautiful thread colour for this quilt. But boy, am I going through thread!!! This is a big quilt!

until next time, always carol xox

OMG! That is friggin’ amazing, bubby! I am in L-O-V-E! The quilting pattern is out of this world. That is freehand? You rock! The thread colour is spot-on. I hope you don’t run out! This one is going to be a showstopper! xoxo

Oh! Tammy! I’m so glad you like it. I decided that a softer quilting motif would balance nicely with the sharpness of the triangles and, after many pencil sketches, I finally chose an interlocking paisley pattern in a freeform ‘ribbon’ formation. I think it compliments the quilt beautifully and that thread is stunning, blending well throughout the blocks and showing off at its best in the borders! xox
