Summer Storm

17.5” x 19”

In August, 2007 I was humbled by the immense power and beauty of a summer storm. The prairie sky, whipped dry by the unrelenting winds, cracked like an eggshell and released its brief fury onto the parched landscape. As dust and brittle twigs swelled like sponges I tilted back my head and allowed the delicate balance of nature to revitalize my own dried spirit.

Hand-dyed cottons and threads, machine pieced, hand quilted.
